New Cluster: Get ready to move to Frontenac

The Centre for Advanced Computing (CAC) at Queen’s University has built a new cluster called Frontenac, and we are getting ready to move our users to it. Eventually, this will be our main production compute cluster. It features a new Operating System (CentOS 7), and new scheduler (SLURM), a new user file system (GPFS), and a new software manager (lmod). We are planning to gradually move all of our user base to this new system, and add new hardware as we go along.  We will contract our users individually to arrange for “the move”. Have a sneak preview at our Wiki page (http://cac.queensu.ca/wiki/index.php/Hardware:Frontenac) but keep in mind we’re still working on it.
